In our next issue of British Travel Journal we are running an article on the effect COVID-19 has had on the UK travel industry. We’d like to cover your news, how you have been doing things differently during lockdown, and what are the changes or implications that COVID-19 is likely to have on your future re-opening strategy?

We cannot travel right now, our health and safety is paramount. But while we stay apart we can still use travel and our zest for life to bring us closer together. Here at British Travel Journal we plan to continue to inspire our readers, and look forward to a future time when we will be able to travel again. Please read our Editor’s April COVID-19 statement here.

Supporting the travel industry is really important to us. We want to share your stories, from gin distilleries turning their hand to providing complimentary hand sanitation equipment, hotels offering NHS staff rooms during the crisis and free holidays post-lockdown, to the magnificent online masterclasses in food, fitness and health.

So if you have something to share we would love to hear from you.

Please either tell us your story, or answer the questions below, sending an email to jessica@britishtraveljournal.com

  • What were your feelings when the reality of COVID-19 became clear?
  • What did you do differently during lockdown?
  • What did you want to achieve by changing what you offered?
  • Has your response to COVID-19 changed the way you’ll do things in the future?
  • What do you anticipate the next 12 months will look like for your business?
  • What one thing (apart from a total end to lockdown/social distancing) would help you going forward?

We look forward to showcasing the best initiatives, campaigns and donations from the UK travel sector in an article on COVID-19 and the UK travel industry in our next issue of British Travel Journal. We want to encourage our readers to continue to dream of the extraordinary places they can explore, from dreamy coastlines to idyllic countryside and magnificent cityscapes. So let’s stay inspired and plan great adventures for the future!

It is within our human nature to want to travel, to experience nature, to explore our beautiful surroundings and make memories that last a lifetime… and we very much hope as an industry we will be ready to warmly welcome our readers and visitors back to enjoy travel experiences together again soon.

Stay strong, stay inspired, and stay safe.
