Pelorus and Camp Kerala create luxury mobile tented camp experiences in remote destinations.
Experiential travel specialists, Pelorus, and ‘glamping’ pioneers, Camp Kerala, have joined forces to offer travellers exclusive new experiences in remote parts of the United Kingdom, once domestic travel is viable again. This new partnership combines the very best of adventure travel with hedonistic hospitality, as these two British brands bring together family and friends in the greatest of comfort and privacy, to enjoy adventure in remote UK corners.
Pelorus and Camp Kerala will build every journey from scratch so that the camp will become a ‘home away from home’ where guests are welcomed as old friends, and the needs of each individual are cared for. A bespoke series of activities and experiences will be organised by Pelorus – be it fishing, off the beaten track walks with spectacular views, picnicking at a remote loch, foraging or wild swimming, suited to the group’s interests. Guests will return from these adventures to the signature Camp Kerala experience – imagine beautifully designed maharaja tents with the softest of beds on a stable hard wood floor, in-tent service, delicious dining and the legendary CK bar, so that the fun can continue long into the night.
The teams have put together a series of concepts in locations such as Dorset and Somerset, Yorkshire, Pembrokeshire and throughout Scotland and guests will be able to choose to either stay in one location or move between multiple camps to explore more of the region. As every experience is bespoke the isles are your oyster, and travellers can expect hiking along the Jurassic coastline, heading out on RIBS to fish before darting back in for a coastal BBQ to cook the catch, paragliding over the west country’s spectacular scenery or surfing off the Pembrokeshire coast. Expert guides will be on hand for activities such as foraging, bird watching and survival skills.
Since its inception in 2005, Camp Kerala has been the global leader in luxury camping. The company has effortlessly created a safe haven for guests to come together and enjoy exceptional experiences, pushing the boundaries of location, entertainment and service.
Pelorus offers private adventures to the most awe-inspiring places on Earth. Named after a marine navigation tool used in the golden era of exploration, Pelorus puts the emphasis on the experience at the heart of the holiday and this new partnership draws together this expertise with Camp Kerala’s high-end glamping accommodation to provide the finest UK holidays.
This ambitious and innovative venture will unlock exclusive experiences across the UK, not before accessible to luxury travellers. In a time when real wilderness is rare, Pelorus endeavours to bring the unimaginable to life, with Camp Kerala by its side to spread joy and create a seamless hospitality experience. Co-Founder Jimmy Carroll says, “Whether it is a celebratory occasion or a family adventure, Pelorus’ aim is to build something truly extraordinary in travel. There is so much of these isles not being seen – we aim to show people what is out there, with the finest accommodation, dining and service to come home to. Camp Kerala certainly know how to provide all of this, and one hell of a party.”
Bert Broughton, Director of Camp Kerala comments “Camp Kerala brings luxury, elegance & revived energy to bucket-list events and experiences in extraordinary locations all over the world. 2020 has bought a new challenge, but with Pelorus as our partners we are creating some ground-breaking experiences to look forward to.
